ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami leader Senator Sirajul Haq along with other party leaders held a meeting with a representative delegation of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML) in the federal capital.
PML President and former prime minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, former deputy prime minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed were included in the delegation. On the occasion, Siraj invited the PML president to participate in the All Parties Conference (APC) on Kashmir on July 27, which he accepted.
Since all opposition parties will be present in the conference, appointment of the Election Commission members and the Terms of Reference (ToRs) for Panama Papers probe commission issues will also be discussed. Both Shujaat and Elahi said that all the opposition parties must have one platform and unanimous agenda.
They said that real opposition parties should come forward, and decide about future line of action together. They said that it would not be able to achieve desired results if the opposition was not united and unanimous on one agenda and platform. “There will be no guarantee about next election to be fair and transparent if honest and impartial personalities are not included in the Election Commission,” he said.
